Treatment rooms are adorned with
reams of exotic silks and include gold double
bathtubs for his and hers pampering; this is the
new Anantara Spa at the super-deluxe Emirates
Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi. It is the first Anantara
Spa to open in the United Arab Emirates and the
combination of eastern serenity and Arabian grandiose
is gloriously intoxicating. Oriental motifs and
a heady aroma of exotic oils serve as a reminder
of its Thai heritage, but the ambience is firmly
set in Morocco with specially imported Zelish
tiles and authentic woodwork. The spa includes
seven treatment suites complete with Vichy shower
and the only Moroccan hammam in Abu Dhabi. A second
facility is planned for later this year to create
dedicated men's and women's areas. The hammam
is, undoubtedly, the star of this spa featuring
double heated marble beds surrounded by two Jacuzzis,
a stunning bre-optics ceiling and an ice cave.
Massages, scrubs, wraps, facials and an array
of other beauty treatments are all available using
top quality products: Anantara's own, Elemis from
London, the Parisian-Moroccan classic Charme d'Orient
and the exclusive C-products from the Dead Sea
in Jordan.

Anantara offer six signature 'Journeys' that observe
traditional bathing and beauty rituals from different
cultures and past eras. Gateway to Arabia, the
jewel of these journeys, celebrates the Moroccan
hammam. It is a must for anyone who wishes to
experience the best of this spa.
